Alberts story begins with the family’s MK3 Supra – a cool set of wheels that kick-started his love affair with cars. Fast forward to high school, and a joyride in a buddy’s MK4 Supra became the catalyst for his deep-seated admiration for this iconic ride. The mod bug bit Alberts through a hand-me-down 1990 Toyota Cressida. Playing with engine swaps, he dreamt of the powerful 1JZ and 2JZ engines. The MK4 Supra remained a distant dream due to wallet constraints until the FT-1 concept dropped in 2014, reigniting his desire. The MK5 Supra’s release? That’s when his dream of Supra ownership was reborn.
Alberts’, drawing inspiration from tweaking the Cressida and IS300s, aimed to bring back that wide Supra swagger. He found a love in the Varis Widebody kit giving it the magic touch that gives the Supra those killer lines. The Artisan Spirits hood was just another requirement he had on his checklist to add to the aggressive look. Of course to finish it off a nice meticulously sourced TE37V SL wheels from Japan, adding that perfect touch of flare.
To match the aggressive look, he powered up the ride with the HKS BOV Kit giving it a nice little sound when the engine spools up. The Verus Engineering Air Oil Separator effectively prevents oil vapors from infiltrating the intake system, promoting a cleaner and enhanced combustion process. Califonia is known to have some of the U.S. strictest emissions test, so when the opportunity comes for additional horsepower you tend to take it and doing a delete on the Intake Resonator allows enhanced airflow.
Additionally, the installation of a SARD Titanium Exhaust and Armytrix Downpipe can further elevate the overall exhaust system, enhancing both that throaty sound and adding couple more horses. Handling got an upgrade too, thanks to Cusco Underbracing and Suspension Parts, TRD X Yamaha Front and Rear Strut Bars, and those snug Recaro Podium Carbon Fiber Buckets seats with the Takata 4 Point Harness. This allows Alberts to hit those aggressive corners with precession driving up to Big Bear or taking those straights to avoid the congestive traffic within the city.
Looking ahead, Alberts’ got plans. A Tanida 330mm D shape steering wheel, Zestek Racing Hub, Voltex Type 7.5 1800mm Wing, EVS Tuning GTLM Side Mirrors, and a DarwinPro Diffuser are on the horizon to crank up the Supra’s game.
Beyond just bolts and nuts, Alberts’ Supra journey is a love story on four wheels. With precision mods and heaps of passion, his ride is a piece of art rolling down the streets, forever leaving an imprint on the Supra legacy. Here’s to chasing dreams and making them burn rubber!*
