Lowrider Culture in Central Japan

It was a nice and chilly Wednesday morning in Gifu Japan where i was meeting up with friends for a New Years Cruise. In Japan, it’s kind of a yearly thing to celebrate a New Year with a Cruise since most people have the first 3 to 4 days off to start off their new years. I’ve been to a few New Years Cruises here in Japan but this was my first Low Rider New Cruise out here. The last two cruises I’ve been to were Honda Cruises.

A few people left to the meet location early to secure some spots.

Although it was a Low Rider Cruise/Meet. There was a few other cars like Honda, Nissan and Toyota and a few more. These 3 cars are the people i came with. A Honda Vigor which i never thought I’d see in Japan because of how rare they are just like here in the States. A Nissan Cefiro with USDM conversion to the Infiniti i35 on big chrome Brabus wheels and a Honda Prelude.

It’s time to roll out. The Parking area where the meet was hosted wasn’t really to far from where we meet up so we got there in less than 20 mins. When we got arrived there was plenty of Lowriders to look at.

Anyone else have a soft spot for wagons?

What year Impala is your favorite? I myself prefer the 63. >

After the meet at the Parking area. We went to go make Mochi the traditional way over at California Social Club in Nagoya. California Social Club is a Chicano Style and Lowrider Store where they sell clothes from Pro Club Tees, Dickies to Ben Davis. Sadly I don’t have pictures from inside the store but you can always check them out @CaliforniaSocialClub

After we finished up with the day me and my friends went our separate ways. It was fun being around all of the lowriders and I really enjoyed the vibes all around. If you want to see Lowriders near Nagoya area. I would recommend hanging out in Sakae, Nagoya on the first Saturday of the month… (Although I’ve heard they haven’t did that in a while) you can still find Lowrider Events and USDM style events out there too! USDM Jam takes place in Aichi and a few other Lowrider Events. Hope i can see these cars again next time i’m in Japan. For now it’s back to the States for me.
