Interview:
How did you get started in the Car Scene?
When folks ask me how I got into the Car Scene, I can’t help but laugh! It’s a simple answer – My
father was the catalyst to it all. Here is the funny kicker that started our father-daughter rivalry up
a notch. I spent my childhood being dragged to All-American Muscle Car Shows, like the Rod
Run in Gatlinburg, TN. I won’t lie to anyone that I simply didn’t vibe with it – especially with my
old man looking like the stereotypical Corvette Owner.
The gamechanger was when I stumbled across the anime, Initial D. The minute I got my driver’s
license and hit the road, I went rogue fully embracing the Import Scene. Let’s be real, I didn’t just
do it for the aesthetics; it was a cheeky move to mess with my dad and get a rise out of him!
What was your first car?
1998 Honda Prelude [Base Model]
You just sold one of your NSX’s do you have any future plans to maybe get an NC1?
Is this even up for debate? Abso-freaking-lutely! The next addition to my dream car collection,
sharing the spotlight with my cherished Mental Health NSX, is a choice between the captivating
2019 Orange Thermal Pearl NC1 or the sleek 2021 Long Beach Blue NC1. Either one would be a
dream come true, and I am ready for a helluva deal to land in my lap to take possession!
What prompted you to sell the Red NSX?
As much as I loved my 1991 Honda NSX, I sold it to pursue my long-term dream,
relocating to Texas. Myself and my partner, Sebastian Motes, are looking forward to
starting our lives in Dallas, TX in 2024! We have many friends, colleagues, and
mentors awaiting our arrival in Dallas, TX!
What automotive trends or innovations have caught your eye recently?
In 2023, my interest has been peaked by Tesla and their EV movement especially behind the
Model S Plaid and the speculated 2024 Model 3 Ludicrous. The Plaid’s engineering, offering
record-breaking performance and acceleration, is a testament to Tesla’s cutting-edge
technology. The sophisticated battery system, thermal management, and software integration
not only push the boundaries of electric vehicle capabilities but also redefine automotive
excellence. This blend of high performance with sustainable technology captures my
fascination, reflecting a significant leap in both engineering and environmental consciousness.
Plus, who doesn’t like a maintenance-free car basically?
What is your favorite car model or brand and what draws you to it?
This answer should come to NO SURPISE – Acura/Honda NSX – ! The NA1 was a groundbreaking
masterpiece that is still considered legendary to this day. The NSX was introduced in the early
1990s and was one of the 1st production cars to feature an all-aluminum monocoque
chassis/body which showcased Honda’s continual commitment towards engineering and
lightweight design. Along with its lightweight design, it has a thrilling driving experience with a
high-revving V6 engine providing an exceptional balance of power and handling. The car even
outraced its more expensive European rivals. Unlike some of the exotics, the NSX is known for
its reliability and daily drivability! I can attest to this statement as I placed a near 15,000 miles
on my RHD NSX in a mere 5-month period.
The NSX has such a timeless and aerodynamic design that has aged remarkably well. Even
today, enthusiasts of all ages appreciate its sleek and elegant lines, contributing to its status as
a JDM Legend. This vehicle had such a cultural impact on the automotive industry proving the
notion that supercars didn’t have to be impractical and unreliable. Its success paved the way for
other high-performing Japanese sports cars.
Acura’s decision to resurrect the NSX as the NC1 in 2016 showcased the commitment of the
NSX legacy. The new NSX incorporates hybrid technology, demonstrating the adaptability Acura
has for the ever-changing automotive space. While I understand there are opinions everywhere
on what is the best car, at the end of the day, my 1992 Acura NSX proves to be that of
innovation, performance, reliability, upholding a reputation, and remains timeless 30+ years
later.
Proud to say I own my dream car and have done so 3 times with a 1994 Brooklands Green Acura
NSX, 1992 Formula Red Acura NSX, and 1991 Formula Red Honda NSX (RHD)!
You share a lot of information in the NSX Prime group how do you get your news?

What was the hardest part of your builds that you came across?
The axle horror story with my 1992 NSX [LHD] and 1991 NSX [RHD] stands out as
the most challenging experience I’ve faced in my 27 years of car ownership, despite
having owned over 40 Hondas/Acuras. Axle replacements have been a common
task for most of my vehicles, and until recently, I would simply head to my local
AutoZone for a replacement without any issues. However, the saga with the NSX
axles took an unexpected turn.
To condense a lengthy tale, nine axles, two intermediate driveshafts, and one wheel
bearing later, it became abundantly clear that aftermarket axles from third-party
vendors like AutoZone, NAPA, O’Reilly’s, Rock Auto, etc., were simply
incompatible. Clicking noises upon installation were a recurring issue, and I deeply
regret discarding my OEM axles, each costing $800 or more.
The realization hit hard that, in the case of the NSX, aftermarket alternatives were
not a viable solution. Moving forward, I’ve learned the value of having OEM axles
rebuilt instead of opting for aftermarket replacements. This hard-earned lesson
came at the cost of countless hours, frustration, and a significant dent in my wallet.
I must express my immense gratitude to Barney Demonbreun, who dedicated an
entire week, from sunrise to sunset, helping me navigate and resolve this axle
dilemma. His generosity allowed me to borrow his functional axle just in time for
the MidEast NSX Meet in Raleigh, NC.
Do you have a favorite event and what made it so memorable?
NSXPO Atlanta 2023 stands out as my absolute favorite event thus far, offering an
unforgettable 5-day and 4-night automotive extravaganza. This immersive
experience went beyond the expectations of any auto enthusiast. The excitement
kicked off on day one, where the track came alive with a stunning display of NSX
owners, complemented by the official social check-in at the host hotel. Day two
unfolded with a thrilling blend of scenic mountain drives, go-karting, a group lunch,
and an unforgettable outing to a Braves Baseball game.
The third day marked the pinnacle of NSXPO with the grand NSXPO Concours and
Vendor Show, an NSX Swap Meet, and a captivating closing banquet held at the
prestigious Delta Airlines Museum. As we bid farewell on the fourth day during a
heartfelt breakfast, we embraced the grand finale at Caffeine and Octane,
renowned as “The World’s Largest Cars & Coffee Event” in Atlanta, GA. Each
moment was a testament to the passion shared among fellow enthusiasts, making
NSXPO Atlanta 2023 an unparalleled automotive celebration.
What makes a car truly special?
When a car puts a smile on your face, gives you joyful memories, and allows you to
meet some of your closest friends, that is how you know you have a special car.
Any nick names for your cars?
I always name my cars after Greek Gods and Goddesses. My 92’ NSX is named
Hades evoking power, strength, and distinctiveness. My 97’ Del Sol is named
Helios symbolizing radiance and brightness.
What inspired you to get the Mental Health Awareness wrap on your NSX?
As a suicide-attempt survivor and losing many friends and family members to
suicide, I decided to use my social standing in the car community to bring light
around my advocation for Mental Health Awareness. I will forever utilize my Acura
NSX as a commitment to bring the statement forward of breaking the stigma around
Mental Health. Every time I drive the car, it will serve as a reminder to myself and
others that mental health matters, and you’re never alone. My goal with my wrap is
to spark conversations, encourage openness, and help create a more supportive
community. This is my powerful way to leverage my passion for cars to drive a
positive change to leave an everlasting impact on both the automotive and mental
health space.

Lastly. What words of encouragement and advice would you give to people and
people who are car enthusiasts to power through any kind of mental health
battle(s)?
To those of you who are navigating through mental health challenges, always
remember that seeking support is a sign of STRENGTH, not weakness! Just as you
maintain your car, prioritize your mental health. This can look like connecting with
fellow enthusiasts; the automotive community is vast and supportive. Don’t
hesitate to share your thoughts and struggles – vulnerability fosters strength. Take
breaks when needed, go on car drives blasting the music, and recognize that mental
health is a journey, not a race. If you are having escalated thoughts, please seek out
professional help. Embrace the healing power of your passion, but also prioritize
your well-being above all. Your resilience is a testament of your strength. Don’t
forget you are loved.
