In the world of professional drifting, one name has consistently stood out over the past decade – Chris Forsberg. With a remarkable career spanning over ten years, Chris Forsberg has left an indelible mark on the import racing scene, capturing the hearts of motorsport enthusiasts worldwide. This article delves into his journey and the evolution of his powerful racing machine.

Drifting, a motorsport discipline that emphasizes precision, control, and tire-smoking style, has been in existence for far longer than a decade. However, it wasn’t until the release of “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” in 2006 that it exploded into the mainstream in the United States. This cinematic masterpiece catapulted drifting into the spotlight, followed by the inception of Formula Drift in 2004, which further cemented its status as a bona fide motorsport. Both events quickly became viral sensations.

At the heart of this drift revolution is Chris Forsberg, who is currently in his 11th year as a professional drifter. Forsberg, the Formula Drift 2014 season points leader, is widely regarded as the most consistent driver in the Formula Drift circuit. He embarked on his Formula Drift journey right from the start, joining the series in its inaugural season in 2004. Notably, Forsberg has attended every single round of Formula Drift since its inception. His dedication and passion for the sport are second to none.

“My First Exposure to any motorsport really was through my uncles who were huge into drag racing.

Chris Forsberg

In 2009, Chris Forsberg achieved the pinnacle of success by winning the Formula Drift championship and the coveted Triple Crown championship. What makes this feat even more remarkable is that he is the only driver to have clinched both titles in the same year, showcasing his extraordinary talent and driving prowess.

As of 2014, Chris Forsberg is behind the wheel of a Nissan 370Z, specifically a 2014 model, which has undergone extensive modifications to transform it into a drifting powerhouse. The car has been fitted with a Nissan Titan-sourced VK56 V8 engine, replacing its stock motor. To keep up with the fierce competition in Formula Drift, the car now boasts a nitrous system that boosts its power output to a staggering 1000 horsepower.

The Nissan 370Z drift machine is equipped with Hankook Ventus RS-3 tires, with 245/50/18s in the front and 265/40/18s in the rear, all mounted on Sir GTRF01 wheels. Ensuring superior handling and control are KW3 3-way competition coilovers and Voodoo13 knuckles and arms. To safely bring this beast to a halt, a Wilwood braking setup, including pedals, calipers, rotors, rotor hats, and caliper mounts, has been installed.

In addition to its impressive mechanical upgrades, the car has received a significant weight reduction. The stock Nissan 370 body has been meticulously transformed with the addition of carbon fiber components from Seibon, APR, and Car Carbon Fiber, making it predominantly carbon fiber, shedding excess weight and enhancing aerodynamics.

There are two tracks on the Formula Drift circuit that I really Love, Road Atlanta and Evergreen Speedway.

Chris Forsberg

As the Formula Drift season continues to evolve, Chris Forsberg remains a dominant force in the drifting world, captivating fans with his remarkable skills and dedication. With a career that has spanned more than a decade, Forsberg’s journey and the evolution of his Nissan 370Z reflect the ever-changing landscape of professional drifting. As he continues to push the boundaries of what is possible in the sport, fans eagerly await each new season to witness his exceptional talents on the track.
