When it comes to discussing your car, it’s always a unique experience. People are curious, intrigued, and often bewildered by the choices you make in your automotive journey. Now it’s time to talk about my new build here in Abu Dhabi and that is my 2008 ABT Audi R8.

For those who have been following my journey, you’ll know that the decision sell my S2000 was a tough one.. The scorching summers here in the U.A.E wouldn’t be too kind to my baby and I decided to part ways.

We’ve all seen the images of abandoned supercars, left to collect sand and dust on the side of the road in the United Arab Emirates. In this land of opulence, people casually flaunt their hypercars, and even the police role in Lamborghinis to keep up with the pace. So, why not join this elite group of car enthusiasts?

Fortune smiled upon me during my quest for the perfect car when I stumbled upon this Audi R8 that already boasted an ABT Bodykit. This discovery served as the perfect canvas on to craft my dream.

Ever since the R8 ever came out I’ve always wanted it in Matte Black with Carbon Fiber being the Accents.

Thankfully, working in the automotive industry comes with its perks, including valuable connections. The team at AG Wheels shared my vision and collaborated on creating custom F441 Neochrome wheels to perfectly complement the R8. The inspiration for these wheels came from a feature I did on Michael Tabares’ Rx7, which sported stunning Gram Lights Neochrome wheels. The sight of these wheels in action during rolling shots was simply breathtaking, and it became clear that this was an essential addition to the R8 build.

Early versions of the Audi R8 experienced issues with their magnetic suspension, giving owners a nightmare to deal with. This gave me a perfect opportunity to upgrade. The decision was made to install KW3 suspension for an improved ride and handling experience, enhancing the car’s performance.

Considering that the R8 is used as my daily driver, I was keen on maintaining reliability while adding the basic neccesities. I started with a Carbonio Air Intake to enhance the car’s engine tone. The next step was upgrading the exhaust system, with I have a clear bias towards Frequency Intelligence for its reputation of crafting top-notch exhaust systems. The resulting sound, akin to an F1 car, made each drive a thrilling experience, especially when taking the car to Yas Island, home to the season’s last F1 race.

Continuing the theme of carbon fiber, I turned my attention to the engine bay. Recognizing the importance of a well-dressed engine compartment, I reached out to Elite Autosports, a company specializing in crafting custom carbon fiber parts. The result was a stunning transformation of the engine bay, with carbon fiber components adding both a touch of luxury and a further performance boost.

The final touch was a Stage 2 tune from PP Performance, giving the R8 a power boost to nearly 500 horsepower. The car was now a force to be reckoned with on the roads of Abu Dhabi.

The interior of the R8 received an upgrade with a set of racing seats from Braum. These seats not only added a sporty and performance-oriented vibe to the car but also made for a more comfortable and immersive driving experience. The transition from the car’s eye-catching exterior to its equally impressive interior was seamless, and it added that perfect finishing touch to the vehicle.

In a land where supercars are a way of life, this Audi R8’s transformation was one I’m proud of, it stands as a striking presence in the UAE’s automotive scene.
